Sexual orientation and gender identity

Sex and gender - no, they are not the same thing, and there are not 'just two', despite the guest list onto the Ark!

Sexual and gender diversity is not an illness and is not a reason to seek therapy. However, sometimes it can be hard to work things out, 'come out', or navigate this typically heteronormative and gender binary world, especially if you experience stigma, bullying, fear of rejection and loss of relationships. These are some of the reasons people seek help, related to sexual or gender identities - it could be about how you feel and sometimes it could be about how others feel about you.

I am a cisgender, heterosexual woman. I am an ally and I care about your unique experiences. I do not expect you to teach me about your community - I have tried to learn as much as I can and will continue to do so; so that means you won't have to spend time teaching me about basic concepts. We can focus on you and your experiences in a safe, confidential and non-judgemental space.
